October: Crop Walk
An annual tradition at Fairview is our participation in the Kansas City Area CROP Walk.
Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty is a non-denominational effort in local communities to help stop hunger. Participants can walk a 4 mile route or can Rock in rocking chairs during that same time period. The walk starts at Loose Park and goes through the surrounding beautiful homes. If you would like to join us or donate please contact church office or see Susan during Koffee Klatch
So, why should we give our time and our money to Crop Walk?
25% of funds raised stay local. Metropolitan Lutheran Ministries and the Hot Dog Lunch program at North Kansas City Christian have both benefited.
You will be providing more than just a meal. Crop Walk supports Church World Service and other agencies providing disaster relief, self-development programs including literacy classes.

December: Northland Christmas Store
Normally early in the month for a four day period.
The Northland Christmas store is a charitable organization dedicated to providing aid to needy Clay County families during Christmas time. The goal is to see that each deserving family or person has ample food for a Christmas dinner, personal care items and each child has gifts to open come Christmas morning.
Donations of food and toys are received from individuals, local churches, and other organizations.
Clients check in at the registration desk. Clients (parents only) are ushered through the Store by volunteers, beginning in the toy room. These rooms are set up according to the child’s age with appropriate toys and gifts. Clients then proceed to the food floor where they receive a variety of non-perishable foods and household items.
