Hello All!

I understand people are finding us on here, and that's great! We'd love to hear from you about the blog, so please do comment here or on Facebook.  We're looking forward to Monday, when we'll have our first in person meeting about this study.

Remember, this study came about as a chance to read the larger texts and see the big ideas.  There's no way we could get a whole book of the bible covered in one night if we focused on the details of each verse.  So we're looking for more large themes and broad ideas.

So, what about Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy? Because those all seem like small details, each verse a mandate, and BOG. ME. DOWN! Yes....I know. However, a study of the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament) is not complete without them. So how do you read them for big ideas?

Well, let me tell you about an adventurous friend I have.  Rev. Josh Patty is a minister at Eastgate Christian Church in Independence, and he's preaching a sermon series covering a book of the Bible each week.  ONE BOOK EACH WEEK!!! And you thought our reading plan was rough.

Well, he's done some great sermons and provided some great resources for these texts. So, I'm pointing you that way:

The whole project: http://www.godsway66.com/

For Leviticus: http://www.godsway66.com/search/label/Leviticus

For Numbers: http://www.godsway66.com/search/label/Numbers

For Deuteronomy: http://www.godsway66.com/search/label/Deuteronomy

Again, I'm not asking you to get every detail, but we are looking for broad ideas and things that set the stage for the books to come.  It's almost like our REAL start is going to be next month when we start Joshua.

So, happy listening and we'll see you on Monday.

For those that can't make Monday's meeting we'll have a way to see what we talked about right back here on the blog.
