History of Fairview Christian ChurchThe congregation which eventually became Fairview Christian Church held its first worship service on June 19, 1955 in the Community Building of what was then Linden, MO. After a short period of time meeting at the Community Building the church began meeting at the Linden School. The ten acre tract of land on which the church sits today was purchased in June, 1956. An old farmhouse sitting on the site was remodeled for use by the new congregation. The first unit (chapel, classrooms, and kitchen) was constructed and dedicated in November of 1957. The second phase of the building (fellowship hall, kitchen, and north wing) was completed and dedicated in September, 1963. The present sanctuary was dedicated in November, 1971 and new classrooms were added in 1985. |
