Garden 'n Grow Gardening Program
Garden 'n Grown is an educational program for 9 through 14 year olds, developed by the University of Missouri Extension that blends positive youth develoment and academic learning with horticulture training and community service. The program encourages the discovery of science and nature through gardening. Gardeners plant and care for their garden plots of vegetables. They are guided by adult educators and Master gardeners.
- Time: 9:00-11:00 a.m.
- Date: Mondays and Wednesdays
- Location: Fairview Christian Church. The garden plots are located behind the church.
- Cost: $35.00 per student by April 17, or $45.00 per student after April 17, which includes a Garden 'n Grow workbook and t-shirt.
- Registration Deadline: To register contact Clay County University of Missouri Extension Office at 816-407-3490 to reserve your spot. Then pick up the registration form at Fairview Christian Church or the Clay Country University of Missouri Extension Office,located in the Clay County Anex Building at 1901 NE 48th Street,Kansas City, Missouri, 64118, and submit your payment to the University of Missouri Extension. Space is limited to the first 20 to sign up. The deadline to pre-register for $35.00 is April 17. The registration fee increases to $45.00 after April 17.
